Some frightening moments in a Grand Island neighborhood Wednesday morning. State Patrol Colonel Bryan Waugh says troopers were serving a child pornography warrant at a home around 6:30 a.m. when a man inside the house begin firing shots at them.
“One trooper returned fire following the gunfire from inside the residence.” Waugh says. “No one was hit by gunfire and the suspect barricaded himself inside the home.” Waugh says the NSP SWAT Team was activated, and investigators gave repeated commands for Jelinek to exit the home.
About ten minutes later, Jelinek voluntarily exited the home and was taken into custody without further incident.. Jelinek has been booked into the in Hall County Jail. Charges are pending and The investigation is ongoing.
