An unusual and powerful storm system moved across Nebraska Wednesday afternoon prompting several tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings. Heavy rain and strong winds rolled into Lincoln between 3:00 and 4:00
A tornado warning was issued for northwestern Lancaster County, but there have been no confirmation of tornado damage. There are many reports of tree limbs and power lines damaged, which knocked out power to thousands of LES customers. The National Weather Service confirmed a wind gust of 93 miles per hour at the Lincoln Airport.
