Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol arrested a man wanted out of Pennsylvania following a late-night pursuit that spanned rural roads and a cornfield in central Nebraska.

Authorities say they received information around 9:30 p.m. Thursday that a suspect from Pennsylvania was believed to be traveling through the state in a Mercedes SUV. A trooper located the vehicle about 10 minutes later at a gas station near the Alda interchange on Interstate 80.

As the trooper approached, the driver took off, tearing a fuel hose from the pump.  The man fled south on Alda Road at speeds exceeding 120 miles per hour. After several miles, the suspect drove into a cornfield, abandoned the vehicle and ran.

Multiple agencies responded, deploying K9 units and thermal drones—the ladder successfully locating the suspect. He was taken into custody shortly after midnight without further incident.

The driver, identified as 58-year-old Antonio Lindsay of Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, was booked into the Adams County Jail on charges including flight to avoid arrest, reckless driving, criminal mischief, obstruction, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also wanted in Pennsylvania for aggravated assault and other offenses.

The State Patrol was assisted by police departments from Hastings, Grand Island, Kearney, and sheriff’s offices from Colfax, Merrick, and Adams counties.
