Former President Joe Biden Coming to Omaha Next Month

By Tom Stanton Oct 8, 2025 | 4:15 PM

Former President Joe Biden will be coming to Omaha next month.

Biden will be one of the featured speakers during the 2025 Ben Nelson Gala at the Hilton Hotel on November 7-8. The former President will join Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear and Capitol Police Officer Harry Dunn, with Omaha Mayor John Ewing as the evening’s emcee.

It will be one of the few public appearances for Biden since he dropped out of the 2024 presidential election amid concerns from party leaders over his electability following a debate performance against then-former President Donald Trump.

While Biden visited the state in 2017 and 2019, he never visited Nebraska during his 2020 campaign or presidency, breaking a streak of presidents making appearances in the state.  The gala is the Democratic state party’s top annual fundraising event.

“President Biden served our nation and our party for decades with compassion and strength,” said Nebraska Democratic Party Chair and DNC Vice Chair Jane Kleeb. “It is an honor of a lifetime to host him in Omaha–a place we lovingly call Jomaha for when he secured this electoral vote!”

The theme of this year’s Gala is: “Diverse, Strong, and Ready.”
