The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a deadly house fire late Monday night near NW 84 and West Raymond Road.  Sheriff Terry Wagner says a man called 911 around 10:40 p.m. to report his attic was on fire.  The caller thought the fire was due to an electrical issue but investigators are still trying to determine that.

“Upon arrival, the structure was on fire and the deputies started trying to locate the man who called in and unable to locate him around the residence or any of the neighbors.”

Wagner says a short time later fire crews reported they had found a human body inside the house.   He says the man found dead may have been the one who called 911 but they are still investigating.

No positive identification has been made yet.  Two dogs were rescued from the burning home and taken to the Humane Society. Wagner says the house was valued at $300,000 and  believes it is a total loss.
