Lincoln North High School used it’s Standard Response Protocol on Wednesday to place the school into a ‘Secure’ as Lincoln Police conducting an ongoing aggravated assault case.
Specific details are not yet known, but LPD is expected to release more details during a briefing Thursday morning at 11:00.
In a letter to North Star families, Principal Megan Kroll assured parents that their children were safe inside the school. She said the incident happened during lunch. “Lincoln Police asked us to use our Standard Response Protocol of Secure while they handled a situation outside,” Kroll said in the message.
“To assist police, a Secure means everyone is brought inside the building and entrances are locked and monitored.” Students are not allowed to leave the building during a Secure. She also advised families that teaching and learning along with movement inside the building happened as normal.
“I want to be clear, your child is safe at school and we are continuing with our day,” Kroll said. “We want to thank Lincoln Police and their continued collaboration in helping keep our school safe.”
