A man is dead after being struck by a vehicle in west Lincoln Tuesday morning. LPD and LFR crews were sent to the intersection of NW 22nd and West ‘O’ streets around 5:45 on the report of a pedestrian struck by a pickup truck.
“The preliminary investigation determined a Lincoln man in his 50s was crossing ‘O’ Street northbound when a gray 2013 Ford F-150 struck him,” says LPD Public Information Manager Erika Thomas.
Lincoln Fire & Rescue took the man to the hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. His identity is being withheld pending family notification. “At this time, drugs, alcohol and speed are not suspected to be factors in the crash,” Thomas says.
Westbound traffic on ‘O’ Street at NW 20th Street is currently closed while the scene is being investigated. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call LPD’s non-emergency number at 402-441-6000 or if you would like to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
