Residents in Lincoln and surrounding communities should prepare for the possibility of severe storms Monday, though the exact timing is uncertain.

National Weather Service Meteorologist Clint Aegerter tells KLIN News says storms could develop around 6 to 7 p.m., but “could be an hour on either side of that, or more.”

“Large hail and damaging winds are probably our main threats, but we can’t completely rule out a tornado or even some localized flooding,” Aegerter said.

The storms may linger for the evening, continuing into early Tuesday morning. Aegerter noted that the system could bring repeat rounds of thunderstorms across the same areas, which increases the risk of flooding.

While the exact track is still unclear, Aegerter said their entire coverage area “is under the gun,” including Lincoln. He urged residents with outdoor plans to stay weather-aware throughout the evening.
