A man has been arrested in connection with a burglary at Hamkam Fashion Design near 48th Street and Cornhusker Highway on Tuesday.  Public Information Manager Erika Thomas says employees called 911 around 5:45 p.m. to report a robbery in progress.

“The victims told officers they had found an unknown man sleeping in an office chair when they entered, told him to leave but believed he was still inside,” Thomas says.  “The business had been ransacked, cash was missing from a lockbox and some ceiling tiles and wiring were damaged.”

The total loss was estimated at $4,400 and estimated damage was listed at $600.  “Officers searched and cleared the business but discovered an open window,” Thomas says.  “They located 41-year-old Joshua Brown of Milford outside a junk storage area nearby and took him into custody.”

Officers found equipment in a backpack and a large amount of cash in a separate bag on the ground. Brown was taken to the Lancaster County Jail and booked  for burglary.
