Lincoln Police were sent to Sacred Heart Catholic Church near 31st and ‘S’ Street just after midnight Wednesday on a report of an auto theft. “The church reported the sound of construction machinery starting and then seeing a man drive off with a skid loader from a project underway in the parking lot,” says Public Information Manager Erika Thomas.
“He exited the lot, driving over concrete forms and breaking concrete on the sidewalk and drove west down S Street.” Thomas says officers contacted 35-year-old Tyler Forrest a few blocks
away and determined he was not employed by the company working on the parking lot.
Damage is estimated at $450. Forrest was arrested and taken to the Lancaster County Jail where he was booked for theft and criminal mischief.
