A Lincoln man is behind bars for the attempted kidnapping of a young boy. LPD says it happened outside the F Street Rec Center around 3:30 Tuesday afternoon.
“During the investigation, officers learned a 12-year-old boy was walking with friends in the area of 10th and F streets when an unknown man walked up behind him, grabbed him by his backpack and began pushing him toward his vehicle parked nearby,” says LPD Public Information manager Erika Thomas.
“He asked a girl in the vehicle, “is this the boy?” and when she said no, he released the boy.” Thomas says the entire incident was recorded by witnesses. Officers identified the man as 38-year-old Tony Brown. He was contacted at his home and arrested. He was booked into the Lancaster County Jail for attempted kidnapping-voluntary release.
