A Lincoln man is recovering after police say he was beaten and robbed by two men who lured him to Woods Park just before 10:00 Sunday night. LPD Public Information Manager Erika Thomas says officers learned the 63-year-old victim had met a man on a dating app and they planned to meet that night at Antelope Park.
“As he began walking there, plans changed to Woods Park and the man offered to pick him up at 27th and A streets to drive him to the park,” Thomas says. “Once they arrived, an unknown man in a black ski mask walked from behind a dumpster and began punching him in the head.”
She says both men began going through the victim’s belongings and demanded money. “The assault continued with both men punching the victim, attempting to break his phone and ultimately leaving with the victim’s debit card.”
Thomas says officers contacted two men in the same vehicle reported from the incident at a gas station in the area of S. 48th and Calvert streets. 20-year-old Dylan Craft was identified as the driver and 20-year-old Alberto Cobian was identified as the man in the ski mask.
Both were arrested and taken to the Lancaster County Jail where they were booked for robbery.
