The No. 1 Nebraska volleyball team elevated its dominance to another level Sunday in its match against Cal. Yes, the Huskers swept again, 25-15, 25-18, 25-12, but in fact, Nebraska never trailed in any of the three sets. It was the Huskers’ fourth sweep in six matches this season, and Nebraska has won nine consecutive sets since falling down two sets to No. 7 Kentucky last Sunday in Nashville, Tenn.
Naturally, the Cornhuskers (6-0) held a substantial statistical advantage over the Golden Bears (2-2). NU outhit Cal, .419-.088, outblocked them 9-3, and outserved them, 6-3. Nebraska had 49 kills and 43 digs to the Bears’ 26 kills and 27 digs.
Harper Murray led Nebraska with 14 kills while adding seven digs and three aces. Andi Jackson had a season-high 12 kills on .450 hitting while adding four blocks. Bergen Reilly had 20 set assists while Campbell Flynn registered 18. Laney Choboy led NU with 11 digs.
The Huskers return to action Friday at 6 p.m. at John Cook Arena against Utah. Pregame coverage begins at 5 p.m. on KLIN and B-107.3.
