No. 1 Nebraska volleyball opened the home portion of its schedule with a 25-16, 25-16, 25-20 over Wright State Friday at John Cook Arena.
Harper Murray ended up just shy of a double-double with a team-leading 11 kills and nine digs. Manaia Ogbechie started and made a team-high five blocks. Bergen Reilly led the team 30 set assists and matched Murray for the team lead with nine digs.
The Cornhuskers (5-0) defense was especially sharp early, holding the Raiders to (-.030) hitting in the first set while notching five blocks in the second set.
Nebraska is back in action Sunday at 1 p.m. at John Cook Arena against Cal. Pregame coverage begins at noon on KLIN and B-107.3. The Huskers will play the entire month of September in the state of Nebraska, leaving John Cook Arena just once, to face Creighton at the CHI Health Center in Omaha on Sept. 16.
