As the Huskers prepare to face Akron at Memorial Stadium Saturday night,  Nebraska State Troopers will be partnering with several agencies to keep fans safe on and off the field.  “Husker Football season is a magnetic time of year and our troopers are ready to make sure fans make it to and from the game safely, says Colonel Bryan Waugh, Superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol.

To assist with traffic flow entering Lincoln, the NSP Aviation Support Unit will have their eyes in the sky to relay information to troopers on the ground. Fans can also hear live traffic reports from Trooper Brett before and after the game on 1400 and 99.3 KLIN.

Waugh says inside the stadium, troopers, LSO deputies, LPD officers and UNL Police will be teaming up to keep the gameday experience safe. Any fan in need of assistance during the game can contact any member of law enforcement or event staff. Fans can also text 402-472-0800 to get assistance inside the stadium.

NSP encourages anyone who observes a reckless driver or anyone in need of non-emergency roadside assistance to call the Nebraska State Patrol Highway Helpline by dialing *55.
