Santa Claus is coming to town with the help of Lincoln Transportation and Utilities.

LTU’s Erika Hill tells KLIN News that Santa will leave the reindeer at home on Saturday, December 18th and they are giving him a ride on a snowplow.

Hill says, “We are trying to spread holiday cheer but we are also trying to educate people on a great resource that they can use throughout the winter months. That is the Snowplow Tracker. If you go to snow.lincoln.ne.gov on the day that Santa is going to be touring around Lincoln, you can watch and see his progress and see what route he will be taking on this website that connects to this app. This is an exciting opportunity for everyone to know our tools that we are offering for the upcoming winter months.”

The Snowplow Santa stops are at:

10 to 10:45 a.m. at Anderson Branch Library at 3635 Touzalin Avenue

11 to 11:45 a.m. at Woods tennis Center at 401 South 33rd Street

Noon to 12:50 p.m. at Holmes Lake Park on South 70th and Normal Blvd. This is on Holmes north Shore Road, parking lot 4

1:10 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Walt Branch Library at 6701 South 14th Street

2:15 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Williams Branch Library at 5000 Mike Scholl Street, Northwest 48th and West Cuming Street.

This is the second year LTU has organized this event. Visitors are encouraged to wear masks and this is a safe, social distancing event.
