Lincoln Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect involved in the theft of multiple items from a local grocery store.
The case occurred on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the Russ’s Market near 17th & Washington Street.
LPD Video Forensics Technician Becky Keller says a store employee reportedly found an empty box of medicine hidden in the drink aisle, which led their loss prevention employee to check the surveillance footage.
Security cameras showed a suspect going to the pharmacy aisle and selecting 3-4 bottles of Robitussin cold medicine before concealing them in his jeans. He then grabs some snacks and drinks and leaves the store without paying for any of the items.
In the entrance vestibule, Keller says the suspect opened and consumed two of the bottles of Robitussin, each of which have 20 pills inside. He then walks to the exterior of the store and consumes another bottle before leaving on foot.
LPD Investigators believe the same man was seen doing the same thing on security footage on August 21st, and possibly two other times.
The suspect was seen to have star tattoos on the back of both arms above the elbows, a heart tattoo on his left hand, and large tattoos on both forearms.
Pictures from the incident are available below.
