The National Weather Service – Omaha is issuing a heads up for hazardous travel conditions today.
An advisory expands south to account for hazardous travel this evening. The 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. evening commute will likely be affected by snow in Norfolk, Columbus and Fremont.

There is a 60% chance that snow may affect the end of the evening commute in Lincoln and Omaha. Hazardous travel is possible along and north of I-80. Snow reaching the I-80 Corridor from Lincoln to Omaha is expected around 6 p.m.

The Weather Service reminds drivers that a small amount of snow can have large impacts. Winter forecasts can change and snowfall can shift. The recommend slowing down if you must travel as road conditions can change quickly.

They recommend having a winter survival kit inside your vehicle and be ready to alter your travel plans.
