Lincoln Police are investigating a crash early Sunday morning that critically injured a person. LPD officers and Lincoln Fire & Rescue crews responded to the area of S.27th St. and Barnard Road just before 6:00 a.m. on the report of a car that had struck a pedestrian.
LPD says the preliminary investigation reveals that a 37-year-old pedestrian was running southbound on S.27th Street when a southbound vehicle struck the runner from behind. Police say the pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. LPD says no impairment of the driver is suspected and no citations have been issued.
