By Chase Porter Aug 28, 2025 | 11:46 AM

Lincoln Police have now arrested the mother in connection to the death of her infant daughter, following the father’s arrest two days prior.

On Wednesday, August 27, LPD announced the arrest of 36-year-old Ryan Greenwood after he called 911 on the early morning of Aug. 14, reporting his 4-month-old daughter had died at their apartment near South 27th Street and Woods Boulevard. The baby’s mother, 28-year-old Tanya Greenwood, was also home at the time.

Investigators with the department’s Special Victims Unit say the infant had injuries consistent with non-accidental trauma. After multiple interviews, collection of physical evidence, and review of surveillance video, Ryan Greenwood was booked into the Lancaster County Jail on a charge of child abuse resulting in death—a felony.

Thursday, Aug. 28, LPD announced the arrest of Tanya Greenwood in connection to this case. She was taken to the Lancaster County Jail on the same charge as Ryan.

The investigation remains is ongoing.
