The owner of Walker Tire near 55th and Arbor noticed a discrepancy in the inventory on Tuesday and called Lincoln Police. Public Information Manager Erika Thomas says based on camera footage from the business, it was determined an employee was stealing the tires and selling them.
“28-year-old Brooklynn Proplesch of Lincoln was observed on video taking thirteen Bridgestone tires over the course of four days .” Thomas says the tires were valued at nearly $7,700. Officers arrived at the business around 2:15 p.m. to talk with the employees who reported the theft
“During the investigation, Proplesch left the business, got into her car and drove off,” Thomas says. “Officers were eventually able to contact her around 6:30 p.m. near Van Dorn Park, more
than 11 miles away.”
Proplesch was arrested and taken to the Lancaster County Jail where she was booked for theft of more than $5,000.
