A 39 year old man was booked on charges after a run in with police overnight. Timothy Bowie was found inside an apartment building laundry room at 12th and D Street and he wasn’t supposed to be there. When police arrived they learned Bowie had an outstanding warrant for theft and attempted to take him into custody.
Bowie put up a fight and lunged at an officer and wrapped his arms around the officer’s neck. Other officers joined in the struggle to remove Bowie from the other officer and a taser was eventually used to get the situation under control. Bowie was checked out at a hospital and released to officers.
Bowie was booked for resisting arrest, assaulting an officer and on the outstanding warrant.
The officer refused treatment and suffered minor injuries.
