Four Suspects Linked to Stolen Jeep in Waverly

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office says a group of individuals went through a Waverly neighborhood early Friday morning checking for unlocked vehicles. Chief Deputy Ben Houchin says they were successful in stealing a newer white Jeep Cherokee near 140th and Amberly Road.

“We do have video of the car driving off, Houchin says.  “There are at least four individuals and they are younger.  They are also shown going up to a car, trying the door and then running off.”

he Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a white Jeep Cherokee was stolen by four people in Waverly early Friday morning.  Houchin says a white pickup is believed to be involved in the theft.  Houchin says the Jeep has not been recovered.

“These individuals were very brazen. I am going to guess, and I hope I’m wrong, that we’re going to have more victims.”  He’s warning residents to not leave valuables or keys in your car.  “The best places to park your vehicle is in a garage, driveway or well-lit area.”
