LPD officers were called to a home in the 3400 block of C Street around 3 p.m. Tuesday to do a welfare check. Officers contacted the resident who told them that a woman she didn’t know had been trying to get into her house through the front and back doors. She then got into the detached garage and was rummaging through it.

When officers arrived, the saw a woman in the back yard matching the description provided by the resident. When they tried to take the woman into custody, she resisted and kicked at officers. They were kicked in the torso, legs, and back and suffered minor injuries.

Officers were able to take 36 year old Monica Hinn into custody but she continued to struggle and kicked at the cruiser.

Hinn was eventually booked on two counts of assault on a police officer, resisting arrest and for criminal trespassing.
