The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office say an 8-year-old girl was seriously injured following a collision with a semi Tuesday afternoon near 148th and Adams. “The Encore was driving eastbound on Adams Street when it violated the stop sign,” says Chief Deputy Ben Houchin.
“A semi-truck hauling rock did strike it. There were two people inside the buick.” Houchin says the girl was flown to UNMC in Omaha for treatment. A 69-year-old woman from Cook was also taken to the hospital where she was treated for an arm injury.
The semi-driver was not hurt.
