The Husker women improved to 8-0 Wednesday on an 86-60 win over Wake Forest (7-1) in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.

Nebraska got up early and slowly pulled away from the previously undefeated Demon Deacons. The win gives the Huskers their best start to a season since the 2009-10 team went undefeated through the regular season. The eight wins to start the season tie the 1992-93 team for the third best start in program history.

Jaz Shelley scored a game-high 18 points. MiCole Cayton added 12 points off the bench and Bella Cravens chipped in 10 points.

The Huskers shot 52.3 percent from the field for the game, including 10-of-28 on 3s.

Despite giving up 16 offensive rebounds, Nebraska won the rebounding battle 40-36.

Nebraska stays on the road Monday for their first Big Ten Conference matchup at Minnesota.
