For a second straight year CHI Health is hosting a COVID-19 friendly Christmas celebration. It’s called Miracle On 91 Street and it’s happening this Saturday at CHI’s Nebraska Heart Hospital at 7500 S. 91 Street.
President Derek Vance says this is the second year at this location after several years at St. Elizabeth Hospital. “This was one time of the year where we would invite the community in for a big breakfast and a tour of something new that was happening at the hospital. With the pandemic last year, we couldn’t do that.”
The free family event will include Christmas displays, choirs from local schools singing carols, Santa handing out goodie bags and a place to drop off letters for Santa. Vance says last year they were overwhelmed by the number of people who showed up, which led to people waiting in lines for long periods of time.
This year he says they have made an adjustment to help speed up the line of traffic. “If you go to CHIhealth.com/miracle it will allow you to sign up for a 30 minute window that’s designed to spread the traffic out more evenly.” Vance says reservations are not required.
