By News Feb 4, 2021 | 4:30 PM

United States Attorney Joe Kelly announced that Roemello Weaver, 21, of Lincoln was sentenced today in federal court in Lincoln for being an unlawful user of a controlled substance in possession of a firearm.  Chief United States District Judge John M. Gerrard sentenced Weaver to 16 months’ imprisonment. There is no parole in the federal system.  After his release from prison, he will begin a three-year term of supervised release.

On April 14, 2020, investigators with the Lincoln Police Department contacted Weaver and executed a search warrant at his apartment.  Weaver admitted to being a marijuana user.  When the investigators searched Weaver’s apartment, they located a substance that was later tested and confirmed to be marijuana, as well as a Glock handgun in his bedroom.

This case was investigated by the Lincoln Police Department.
