Lincoln Police say two fires in the same apartment building were deliberately set. Public Information Officer Erika Thomas says just after 11:30 a.m. Friday, LPD and LFR responded to a fire that started in the stairwell of the building near 46th and St. Paul Avenue.
“It burned the carpet and filled the stairwell with smoke but was believed to have died out on its own, causing approximately $900 in damage,” Thomas says. This was the second incident in that same building. The first one happened on February 7.
That fire caused about $1,200 hundred in damage. Lincoln Police are asking anyone with information to call 402-441-6000. To remain anonymous, you can call Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600, report online at lincolncrimestoppers.com or download the free P3 app.
