Lincoln Parks and Recreation announce a controlled burn today on a two acre portion of Wilderness Park northeast of Old Cheney and South 1st Street. The burn is schedule until 2 p.m. Parking lots and trails will be closed until the early hours of Thursday, November 18th.
The public is asked to avoid that area during the burn. This is a tool used to manage large areas of native plants and grasses. The weather is monitored along with the air quality to ensure safety.
