Lincoln Police say a suspected drunk driver was found hiding inside a liquor store following a one vehicle crash just before 1:00 Monday morning near 15th and Plum.  “A gray 2004 Toyota Camry had struck a tree and those inside got out and ran off,” says Public Information Officer Erika Thomas.

She says officers found the owner of the vehicle inside South Street Liquor near 10th and South Street about 30 minutes later.  “He was found hiding in a back room and taken into custody.”  A preliminary breath test determined 32-year-old Sirak Tesfatsion of Lincoln had a .195 blood alcohol content.

He was treated at the hospital for injuries sustained in the crash and then taken to the Lancaster County Jail.  He was booked for driving under the influence, leaving the scene of a serious injury accident and careless driving.
