The Nebraska men’s basketball team saw its 20-game home winning streak snapped by Rutgers, 85-82, Thursday night at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln. The loss is the Huskers’ third straight overall and the first at home since falling to Creighton at the Vault in December 2023.
Brice Williams led the Huskers with 21 points on 8-for-15 shooting. Juwan Gary found his scoring touch again, tallying 20 after a recent scoring slump. Rollie Worster scored 10 points while also grabbing seven assists and five rebounds. Andrew Morgan scored 11 while Connor Essegian knocked down four three-pointers to score 12 points.
The Scarlet Knights were led freshman Ace Bailey, who scored 24 points on 8-for-16 shooting while Dylan Harper added 21 points. Rutgers dominated the game down load, outscoring Nebraska 40-20.
The Huskers opened a nine-point lead early in the first half, only to see it slip away. The momentum had slipped away by halftime, with the Rutgers holding a 40-37 lead. The second half was close throughout and Rutgers held off a late Nebraska charge to win.
