Nebraska women’s basketball had everything going right in the season opener Tuesday afternoon.

The Huskers (1-0) exploded for a 28-8 first quarter lead before coasting to the 108-50 victory over Maine (0-1).

Issie Bourne led all scorers with 17 points to go with five rebounds. Ashley Scoggins (12), Annika Stewart (12), and Sam Haiby (10) also scored in double-figures.

Making her Huskers debut, Pius X grad Alexis Markowski scored eight points and grabbed seven rebounds.

All 12 Huskers who saw time scored.

Nebraska shot 61.2 percent from the floor for the game, including 8-of-15 on 3s.

The Huskers stay at home Thursday hosting Prairie View A&M.
