Lincoln Police are looking for a man who robbed the Dollar General near 18th and West ‘O’ Street around 7:30 Friday night. “An employee told police a man in his 30s or 40s wearing a black or blue jacket with a tan liner, red plaid shirt, grey pants and white shoes had entered the business,” says Captain Todd Kocian.
“When the employee opened the cash drawer, he reached over and began taking money and verbally threatened the employee, saying he would shoot her” Kocian says the man did not show a gun and the employee did not see one.
He left with an undetermined amount of money. “About five minutes later, employees at Casey’s, 110 NW 20th Street, reported an attempted robbery by a man with the same description as the Dollar General incident.
“The two stores are across the street from each other. The suspect demanded cigarettes and cash, but nothing was taken,” Kocian says. “He had his hand in his jacket pocket implying he had a weapon, but none was displayed.”
