Lincoln Crime Stoppers is seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who shoplifted multiple bottles of Hennessy from a gas station and the man who stole someone’s lost credit card and used it at a tobacco store.
The first case occurred around on October 30, 2024, at the Casey’s Gas Station on Southwest 6th and West “A” Street.
Video Forensics Technician for the Lincoln Police Department Becky Keller says a man came into the store, and when the manager stepped into the office for a moment, the man grabbed 4 bottles of Hennessy and left the store.
The suspect drove off in the silver colored 2000-2005 Buick LeSabre which had some back end damage, and a big dent on the back passenger fender.
Photos of the suspect can be viewed below.
The second case occurred on October 24, 2024, after a woman reported her wallet missing.
Keller says the victim believes she may have lost it somewhere on her way to work downtown. Sometime later, she received a text message from the Capital One credit card fraud team asking if she had used her card at Wally’s Tobacco on 13th and “O” Street.
She said hadn’t and the transaction was cancelled. Police talked to the clerk who helped the individual using her card. They said he came into the store and successfully made an $81 purchase with a card, then came back and tried to make a $134 purchase which was the one that was denied.
Photos of the suspect can be viewed below.
Keller says these two cases are a great example of how clear images and video shared with LPD can greatly help Crime Stoppers clear cases.
“It’s almost 2025, so we’d urge folks who have been considering a security camera upgrade to really think about that as we move into 2025, there are some good quality affordable systems out there now,” Keller said.
