Santa will be skipping his sleigh and opting for a snowplow next month as Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) and Lincoln City Libraries team up for their 5th annual Snowplow Santa tour.
Mr. Claus will be delivering holiday cheer, waving at residents along the route, as he makes brief stops at three libraries from 10 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. on Saturday, December 7.
For the free event, families will be able to meet Snowplow Santa and take pictures with him. Following his visits, each library will offer crafts and holiday refreshments indoors.
The schedule is as follows:
- 10 to 10:45 a.m. – Anderson Branch Library, 3635 Touzalin Ave.
- 11:15 a.m. to noon – Gere Branch Library, 2400 South 56th St.
- 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. – Walt Branch Library, 6701 South 14th St.
“Lincoln City Libraries is always thrilled to partner with LTU and Snowplow Santa to bring joy and tidings to residents throughout our community. Our libraries love hosting this event and providing Lincoln’s residents with a merry, winter activity that is fun for all ages.” said Ali Bousquet, Youth Services Coordinator, Lincoln City Libraries.
Residents may track Snowplow Santa’s location on December 7 only by using the City Snowplow Tracker at lincoln.ne.gov/snow. In case of inclement weather, the Snowplow Santa event may be rescheduled to Saturday, December 14, or canceled. For more information on this event, visit lincoln.ne.gov/SnowplowSanta.
