Nebraska blasts Knights to move to 3-0

By Nate Rohr Nov 13, 2024 | 9:18 PM

Nebraska men’s basketball dominated throughout in defeating Farleigh Dickinson, 86-60, Wednesday night at Pinnacle Bank Arena. Juwan Gary led a balanced scoring effort with 19 points and five assists while Berke Buyuktuncel added 12 and seven rebounds and Bryce Williams contributed 10 points.

The Huskers (3-0) outshot the Knights (1-3) from the field, 43 percent to 40, outrebounded them 43-31, forced 17 turnovers which resulted in 28 points (while FDU forced just eight Husker turnovers and converted them to seven points), and outscored them in the paint, 40-28. The lone weak spot, as it has been in the other two games for Nebraska: 3-point shooting, as the Huskers made just 7-for-28 from behind the arc.

Farleigh Dickinson’s last lead came with 16:55 to go until halftime, at 7-6. Nebraska never trailed again, built a double-digit lead with nine minutes to go in the first half, and went on an 8-0 run late in the first half to all but put the game out of reach. The Huskers led 45-25 at halftime and never led by fewer than nine in the second half.

Nebraska now heads to Sioux Falls to take on Saint Mary’s in the Huskers’ first game away from PBA this season. Tipoff is scheduled for noon Sunday, with pregame coverage at 11 a.m. on KLIN.
