Bell Ringers Needed For Salvation Army Tree Of Lights Campaign

By Tom Stanton Nov 3, 2021 | 3:46 PM

The holiday season is quickly approaching and the Salvation Army in Lincoln says bell ringers are needed to help them reach their Tree of Lights goal this year.

Major Mark Anderson tells KLIN News bell ringing has become a tradition for many families, businesses and civic groups. “It really is an experience to go out and stand in front of the store with a bell in your hand and greeting people and wishing them a great Thanksgiving or a Happy Christmas.”

Anderson says Friday will be the Tree of Lights Kettle Kickoff event at Home Realty at 53rd and O Street. It runs from 5:30-7:00 p.m. and will include live holiday music, free hot chocolate and donuts and an appearance by Santa.  The goal for the red kettle campaign will also be announced Friday evening.

If you or your group would like to ring bells go to registertoring.org.  If you want to help pack holiday baskets for needy families Anderson says you can call 402-474-6263 or stop by the Salvation Army at 2625 Potter.
