Lincoln Police say an officer was driving near 11th and Cornhusker just before 1:00 Wednesday morning when he saw that a black sedan had crashed into the traffic signal pole on the
southwest corner of the intersection.

“The officer contacted the 57-year-old driver and helped him get out of the smoking car,” says Public Information Officer Erika Thomas.  The man was taken to the hospital for treatment of a suspected serious injury.

Thomas says the driver had a blood-alcohol level of .094. He was cited and released for reckless driving and 1st offense DUI.
