Today, Tuesday, November 26, is the last day to submit ideas for this year’s ‘Name That Snowplow’ contest from Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU). After today, LTU staff will dwindle down submissions to the “top” 25 entries from which the community will vote for 8 winners.
Citizens will be able to vote for their favorites from December 23 through January 3, 2025.
LTU will announce the winners the week of January 13, 2025. The 8 winning names will be displayed on City snowplows. Winners will also receive free prizes from LTU.
“Winter in Lincoln is an opportunity for our community to come together and embrace the season,” says LTU Director Liz Elliott. “These snowplows are symbols of our dedication to keeping Lincoln safe on city streets.”
This is the second year of a three-year run for the Name That Snowplow contest. In 2023, the community submitted more than 1,739 names.
