Residents are invited to give their 2-cents on a series of upcoming bridge projects.
The Lincoln Area Bridges Preventative Maintenance Project work includes deck patching and overlays, joint replacement, approach slab repairs, rail repairs, and sidewalk repairs among multiple locations. Construction is expected to begin in spring 2027 and be completed by winter 2027.
Project locations include:
- “O” Street viaduct (Harris Overpass)
- 27th Street viaduct
- SW. 40th Street viaduct
- Sheridan Boulevard Penny Bridges
- 37th and South streets
- 10th and Salt Creek bridge
Bridge traffic would continue during the projects, with lane closures controlled by traffic control devices and signs. Full closures will be required to accommodate work on the Penny Bridges and for work on other bridge locations as necessary.
Lincoln Transportation and Utilities will be accepting comments through December 10. Comments may be submitted to Craig Aldridge, Project Manager, at caldridge@lincoln.ne.gov, 402-416-5349, or mailed to him at 949 West Bond Street, Suite 200, Lincoln, NE, 68521.
