One case of E. coli has been confirmed in Lancaster County, associated with an outbreak involving McDonalds Quarter Pounders.

The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department (LLCHD) says the individual is under the age of 18 and has since been released from the hospital.

“We’re working closely with our state and federal partners on the investigation and continue to monitor the situation closely for additional cases,” said LLCHD Director Pat Lopez in a statement to KLIN News.

If people are experiencing E. coli symptoms like severe stomach cramps, diarrhea or vomiting and a fever higher than 102 degrees after eating at McDonald’s, LLCHD urges them to contact a health care provider or call the Health Department at 402-441-8053.
