Lincoln Police say officers spotted a 2005 red Honda Accord in the parking lot of Roper Park near 8th and Judson Streets around 11:15 Saturday night.  The car was in the lot after hours and officers found three teenagers inside the vehicle.

“The officers detected the odor of marijuana and the occupants were removed from the vehicle,” says LPD Public Information Officer Erika Thomas.   A loaded handgun with
an extended magazine was found in the waistband of the front passenger and it was determined to be stolen.

“Another loaded handgun with an extended magazine was located in the waistband of the rear passenger,” Thomas says.  A probable cause search of the vehicle recovered marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

18-year-old Julio Garcia was booked on several gun charges and possession of marijuana.  A 17-year-old boy was booked on gun and drug charges.  Police also cited and released 19-year-old DeMarcus Jackson for possession of marijuana one ounce or less and being in a closed park after hours.
