Lincoln Police are teaming up with LFR and the City Council on a new Halloween themed event. LPD Public Information Officer Erika Thomas says a “Halloween Swearing-In” ceremony will be held October 24th at LPD’s SE Team Station at 66th and Pine Lake Road.

“It’s going to be a chance to interact with families with young kids who potentially have dreamed about being a police officer or firefighter,” says LPD Public Information Officer Erika Thomas.  She encourages parents to dress their children as their favorite first responder.

LPD and LFR equipment will be on display for tours and photos, including fire engines and police cruisers.  Children will be sworn in by city council members and officially welcomed to their respective departments.

Police Chief Michon Morrow and Fire Chief Dave Engler will be available for photos with the children.   There will be two sessions, one from 6:00-6:45 and the other from 6:45-7:30.  An online RSVP is required and you can click here  for more details.
