On January 11th just before 4am, police were dispatched to the 3100 block of S 48th Street on a reported of a burglary in progress. Neighbors called police reporting they heard glass break and two men wearing dark clothing to enter a house undergoing renovations.
As officers surrounded the residence, they observed a man inside the residence who then attempted to flee from the house. Officers ran after the man and eventually caught him several blocks away. 25 year old Bryce Peterson was taken into custody. When officers search his person, they located a 7-inch fixed blade knife in his sweatshirt pocket. Officers located a blue Ford Fusion parked along the curb in the 4700 block of High Street with the rear driver’s side window broken out and the license plates removed. Officers also observed several pieces of construction equipment in the front and back seats of the vehicle. Officers had located a set of keys to a Ford Fusion on Peterson’s person and determined that this vehicle belonged to him.
The owner of the residence identified the construction equipment in the vehicle as belonging to him. He indicated that equipment had been left in the house while he was renovating it.
Peterson was arrested for Burglary, Failure to Obey Order of Police, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.
