By Tom Stanton Sep 21, 2024 | 3:03 PM

Lincoln Police continue to investigate a crash that critically injured a motorcyclist just after noon on Saturday.  LPD Public Information Officer Erika Thomas says the preliminary investigation determined that a white Dodge delivery van driven by a 35-year-old Omaha man was eastbound on the Pioneers Blvd. access road between Nebraska Parkway and 33rd Street.

“He turned left in front of a motorcycle driving westbound and the bike collided with the rear passenger side of the van.  The 56-year-old Lincoln man driving the motorcycle was taken to a local hospital for emergency surgery.   His injuries were initially considered life-threatening, but police say that is no longer the case.  Investigators say he was wearing a helmet.

The van driver was uninjured and LPD showed no signs of being impaired.    The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information about the crash can call the non-emergency number at 402-441-6000 or, if you would like to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
