Governor Pete Ricketts has made it very clear that he encourages people to get vaccinated for COVID-19. However, Ricketts goes on to say he is 100-percent against mandates.

During a news conference Monday to highlight the roll the state’s Center of Operational Excellence played in the fight against the pandemic, Ricketts said, “I think it is absolutely wrong to make anybody choose between a shot in the arm they don’t want and feeding their family.” Ricketts says he feels terrible for workers having to make that choice.

OSHA is expected release vaccination regulations for businesses with at least 100 employees sometime this week. During the news conference, Ricketts stated Nebraska will be taking OSHA and others to court to get an injunction and stop what he calls a huge abuse of federal power to mandate vaccines through these emergency rules.

Ricketts again welcomed those looking for work to come to Nebraska. He used nurses as an example. They are encouraged to come work here because they are offering hiring bonuses and we are not going to mandate vaccines.
