Weber scoring vs Creighton

Behind Sarah Weber’s second career hat trick, Nebraska soccer downed in-state rival Creighton, 5-2, Monday at Hibner Stadium in Lincoln.

Weber scored in the 22nd minute to put the Huskers on the board. Reese Snowden followed four minutes later with her first goal of the season to build the Nebraska lead to 2-0. After Ariana Mondiri got Creighton on the board in the 34th minute, Weber answered just 24 seconds later to rebuild the Huskers’ lead to 3-1. Weber completed the hat trick in the 60th minute after an assist by Jordan Zade, her second of the game. Lauryn Anglim cashed in a penalty kick for her first goal of the season in the 73rd minute to push NU’s lead to four before the Bluejays scored with seven minutes to go in the match to cut the Huskers’ lead to 5-2.

Nebraska outshot Creighton, 9-7, while CeCe Villa made five saves to earn the victory in goal for the Huskers.

Next up for Nebraska is a match at Oregon State Thursday at 9 p.m. The Huskers will close non-conference play Sunday at Portland.
