Lincoln Police say a man was badly hurt after being struck by a vehicle around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at 22nd and West “O” Street. When officers arrived, they found a 55-year-old man had been struck by a vehicle. The man was transported by ambulance to a local area hospital with life threatening injuries.
Officer Erin Spilker says they interviewed witnesses, processed the scene for evidence, and determined that a silver 2007 Mercury Monterey had been eastbound on West “O” Street in the outside lane of traffic. The man ran across the street in front of the vehicle mid-block.
The woman driving the vehicle was interviewed. There have been no arrests or citations issued at this time and alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor. This investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is encouraged to call Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
