Lincoln Police took a pair of teenagers into custody after arriving at a vacant house near 35th and ‘N’ Street around 6:45 Sunday night. LPD Public Information Officer Erika Thomas says someone reported the teens wearing ski masks and walking into the house around 6:45 p.m.
“Officers observed a stolen vehicle parked down the street with the ignition damaged,” Thomas says. “Officers detained a 16-year-old male and a 15-year-old male. During the
investigation, officers viewed video footage that showed the suspects arriving in the stolen vehicle.”
The 2019 silver Kia Optima was reported stolen from the area of 61st Street and Pine Lake Road sometime overnight Friday into Saturday. Both juveniles were booked into the Youth Services Center and referred for theft by unlawful taking $5,000 or more.
